Just Another Day at The Zoo

It was actually warm enough to go to the zoo the other day. The kids have been wanting to go very bad!

It was great. For some reason all the animals were very active.

The polar bear was up.

The fish were smiling

And then we came to this guy, the Mandril. He was feeling, how do I say this, VERY active.

We are in the enclosure with a couple of other families and Grace yells out "the gorilla is touching his penis". Like any other parent would have I try to pretend like I don't hear her. She shouts it again, and again I am hanging in the backgound taking the above picture pretending like I can't hear a thing. Finally the third time she yells it out I have to go see for myself.

Sure enough. He is not only touching it, but he is being very active about his touching. Do you get what I mean?

Needless to say, Grace yelled loud enough and enough times that all the parents and kids turned their attention the the Happy Mandril!

It was an action packed day. So much so that the kids fell asleep sitting up in the wagon leaning on each other.

I KNOW THE WRITING IS KIND OF MESSED UP. THE HTML IS WACKED AND I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR THE WANT TO FIX IT!

Grace Hit Me Really Hard

So the other day Jake is crying, he comes down the stairs and says "Grace hit me really hard". Standard day around the Klepper house. I say "Grace don't hit" then he shows up like this.Take a look at Jake's chest.

I guess she did hit him HARD! Hard enough to leave a nice little hand print

Grace wanted to play tag with Jake. Here is what she said:

"Jake, lets play Tag Do It"

I guess when Jake says "tag your it" it translates a little differently to Grace.

Here she is the other day during naptime--it wasn't going well.

Introducing Jake Staplehead Klepper

Well, we had our first visit to the Doctor for staples, that's right not stitches, but STAPLES! Warning semi-graphic fuzzy picture ahead.

Jake has officially requested to change is middle name to Staplehead. So, from this day forth he shall be know as Jake Staplehead Klepper.

It was pretty traumatic experience getting his staples. It hurt something serious! So much so that when we went back 4 days later to have them removed, the nurse offered me reinforcements to hold him still---HE FREAKED OUT!

But, we made it through. Here we are a couple weeks later, still with a huge scab, but at least there aren't any staples.

If I never have to go through that again it will be too soon.

Jake's Swim Googles

Grandma Ginny gave Jake some swim goggles when we went to visit a few months ago. We went swimming then we were waiting in the car for some reason, that now I can't remember. Jake and I thought we would kill sometime...

A Girl And Her Dog

This dog of ours Frank is a great friend to the kids. They fight over who's bed he gets to sleep in at night, they both want to hold his leash for walks, and they always both want to give him treats! I think we may have a contestant who is trying to pull ahead in being Franks #1

Let me show you some of her work:

See that purple blanket? It is her ALL TIME FAVORITE blanket and she is sharing it with her boy.

Here she is "teaching" Frank Class ends with a kiss. She naps with him He even came to her birthday party and watched her open gifts Then a couple of nights ago she threw her best work at him.

I hear her in the cabinet where his treats are kept. This is how the converstaion went:

Me: G what are you doing?

G: Giving Frank a treat.

Me: How many have you given him?

G: TOO MANY

She was right, she gave him way too many, as in polished the box off.

I am pretty sure, for at least that night, she took top honors.

While looking for pictures of G and her dog, I came across this video from July, 2009. Seems like she has been working on being Frank's #1 for a while.

Oldie But Goodie-November 11, 2008

I was looking through pictures and videos on the computer today and came across this from November 11, 2008. Too cute. We were on our way to see Jake's first movie Madagascar 2 with Buffy, Ethan, and Logan. Grace is just over one and Jake isn't quite 2 1/2.

No Bananas On Saturday

For the past 3 weeks or so, in morning we eat cereal with bananas and blueberries. This morning I ask J if he wanted them. Here is how it went down...

Me: "Do you want blueberries and bananas in your cereal?"

J: "What day is it?

Me: "Saturday"

J: "I don't eat bananas in my cereal on Saturday"

I learn something new everyday.

We Are Bloggers Now

Well, we have finally gone and joined the blogging crowd. I guess it was only a matter of time considering how much I love blogs. This will be about our family and pretty much anything else we feel like posting. It will be an easy way to keep up with family and friends and keep a record of all the awesome things I see out there in blogland that I want to remember.

This morning I asked the kids to get ready to go...this is what they picked out. We don't have a Spiderman mask so the butterfly had to do. Surprisingly, or maybe not surprising at all, all the little boys at the library thought J's outfit was amazing. Oh, and in case you couldn't tell G is Superwomen.
